  I have done business with Louis Shanks for 38 years. My parents shopped with them for years before that. My most recent purchase was a Stickley dining table and chairs. Leslie Wechter helped me through the process of choosing the dining room set. She found the absolute perfect William Morris upholstery for the chairs. The fabric coordinates with my hand knotted rug (from Louis Shanks) as well as my drapes. I couldn't be more pleased with my new purchase and the help I received. Louis Shanks is the only place I shop for furniture. Becky Sweet

  I love the quality and variety of furniture at Louis Shanks. I was so fortunate to have Leslie Wechter help me the first time I shopped there and now immediately ask for her help when purchasing something new. I am always so happy with my purchases there, buying new furniture is fun rather than a stressful experience. Highly recommend!

  These guys DO NOT sell or stand behind quality furniture. We worked with Louis Shanks for a couple of weeks to select fabrics on a custom Marge Carson couch that would sustain life with pets and a kid and generally be center of a lived in living room. I worked hard with the sales team to ensure I was buying quality. The sales team was proactive and responsive. The transaction was well over $10,000. I also bought an additional warranty. This was the second large furniture purchase I have ever made and I wanted it to last a lifetime so I worked hard to ensure I could find a quality piece that also looked nice. The couch sustained damage within the first days. I worked with my sales rep to have the warranty representative and the representative of the manufacturer come see my couch. They agreed that the couch had flaws, such as the way the buttons were sewn on, the fact that the pillows were not made as ordered, and that the fabrics were not holding up to being touched or sat upon. Additionally, there was damage from my cats. While I specifically paid for fabrics that would be tough enough to sustain my cats, I am willing to concede that Louis Shanks should not be responsible for that. The cat scratches have nothing to do with this and are not part of what I ever asked for. The representative also told me that I "bought a Lamborghini and should expect constant issues." I was not sold a Lamborghini nor did buy a Lamborghini. I bought a living room couch. As they left, the representative said he "wanted to make me happy" but I did not hear anything for almost two months. When I did finally get a hold of Chuck, he let me know they do not intend to do anything and that I can just sue them because I have cats. They won't even allow for the use of the warranty I purchased. I just want the quality I purchased. DO NOT waste your money on this place!
