  A couple of years ago a pal gave me a gift certificate for Cindie's. I went in shortly thereafter and used about half of the total value. I put the card away and forgot about it until this week. When I went in today I asked the lady behind the counter what the remaining value was. She said it was empty, which I assured her was not the case. She (and a manager that stood next to her) informed me that if a gift certificate is not used within one year- Cindie's takes $2 a month off the value until it's empty. So the money my friend paid to them I cannot use because this business decided to take it back (silently, like a thief in the night). I find this totally underhanded and I won't be back.
